say hi to why koreans are kinda....weird

Did you know?

who is the best in the world for b-boy dancing?

actually b-boys cheer up, my grandma and grandpa watches u guys all the time....serious

do you know why?

its in our genes

our tranditional folk dance is.....like....this

we were doing this....like from min 1000years ago.

its not like we.... came out of no where

it was kinda in our genes ....also were kinda over acheievers in general in every genre.

think about it, our country, sooooooooo small , sooooo small popluation, and 70% of the land

we cant use/live in cos its all trees/mountains...and even our trees we cant use to make furniture cos its too thin.

and we have almost no resource, and the only way we survivied?

over-achieving mind + ultimate capitalism with the help of dictatorship in the 70s.

think about it. every genre has a korean leader

pastor moon?

models?

korean fashion designers in ny?

nam jun baik?

in b-boying

golf

shooting arrows

ice scating / winter sports (no one cares about it :(...)

movies in cannes?

so on.... but many times in random generes.

which is kinda really funny

never so main-stream.

i think its cos, we use chopsticks and other fucking countries keep on bullying us

i really wonder if in northkorea they have simmilar cultures as south korea does now.

im sure they did a really good job keeping our tradition cos south korea is ditching

traditions so easily.... (sad)

Hey Thanks for this post. It's really interesting for me because I am moving to South Korea in January on a student exchange. I have been doing so much research. I have already lived in Tokyo for 1 year and I thought the culture seemed very similar, but in Japan I have never seen such amazing dancing. I can't wait to see all that. I am going to be studying fashion design and art at a university in Seoul so I am hoping to also see some amazing Seoul Street Fashion. (I take street fashion photos for www.melbournestreetfashion.com and I also took loads of street/party photos from my Japan blog in Tokyo. What are the "Cool" areas of Seoul? Can you recommend anything. Will it be hard to find vegetarian food in Korea?
Oh and I have been looking up tours to North Korea, you can go for day trips into restricted areas from Seoul, that sounds interesting. I want to see how different the 2 cultures are too.

Yeah well, with NK's reputation of a backward,' hermit kingdom' country, reflected (apparently in all history books of Korea) of 16th century Korea, keeping that tradition .. NO THANKS! Then NK playing childish games to America and China for Aid where you know and I know that it won't feed most North Koreans (so they start eating themselves), no thank you yet the irony of all of this, NK's stance of 'Korean pure blood ideology and its so so great etc' and yet the're smoking Japanese cigarettes and Western Whisky.. NO THANKS on that tradition either.

SK lost all of this? No it hasn't. Its still there in South Korea. (mad cow protest crap, America's bullying us,(thinking America is China and its hegemony like before the Japanese annexation .uh no think again)

ITs still there, all of KOREAN tradition in SK and Daul thanks to you, you've just showed it in your post.
Congratulations you're definately keeping up with the tradition.

What happened to Korea, like in the 70's - to early 90's where there was the real critics who talked and questioned without all this pure blood ideology, inferority complex shit, gene shit, country bullying shit and focus on being a better person in society and country and dealing with the past. Because that was what I raised as, that kind of Korean not this backward 16th century Korean living in this 21st cent.

planet b-boy that was an awesome movie. made me prob to be korean. i think i cried in the part about the son and the dad.

yes, koreans are extremists and neurotic but other times i think we adjust well into most societies. koreans are spread across the globe in brazil, russia, canada, japan, china, you name it we are there working hard at something.
