bokko in korean means retro
hence, its retro dancing, but its quite powerful
very popular among night clubs in south korea during the 90's
it was all about bokko dancing and tech-no dancing and the movement
is quite architectural ...
dress code is always something like...an armani suit / semi- casual.
usually danced by men because of the hardcore movements, and the dance is
synchronized to techno trance music.

As you can see, tektonik copied alot of the moves from bokko dancing...and it was done in korea in the 90's....
nowdays korean people only dance to house music or hiphop / b-boying .
i think what we had (bokko) was considered quite tacky but i think we should keep it and revive it (seriously)

I had my first glimpse of Tektonik music recently on a Korean music show- there's a short-haired singer who is pretty famous (though I can't remember her name) wearing some crazy outfits, dancing/singing in the tektonik style... Anyway, reminds me of the San Francisco rave scene in the 90s, but with less repulsive outfits.

lol... It's quite unfortunate that we didn't think of registering a trademark for the bokko dance in the 90s unlike the french, who registered a trademark for the Tecktonik dance in the early 20s. If we have done it, we could have collected so much royalty from the french.
It looks similar to what guys and girls still do in Japan. You seem them on the street at night in front of large reflective windows practising their moves. I think in Japan it's called Para Para.
i know para para but it is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT i did para para dancing when it was popular its more easy and the steps are different.... this is BOKKO dancing and its korean and wayyy before para para was popular and this dance is hard core....
as cheesy as it is, it is so hard to stop watching. i love my people, crazy koreans. only we could dance as hardcore as that.
i think this is the worse dance trend to hit korea. bokko and tektonic. almost as bad as the techno dance in the late 90's when girls shake their heads back and forth and grab the wall.
at least hip hop and house/techno has a culture and history associated with them. these are just dumb losers following some korean singer. no one really dances like this in korea.
Would love to try dancing to that in a random hiphop/rnb orientated club just to see the crowd's reaction.
