i am in new york in china town
we went into a chinese restaurant

we were very hungry

there are so many fishes and crabs
and eels crammed in the tank

a fish's memory is 3 seconds

have you ever had drunken prawn before?
you put live prawns in wine and get them drunk
when their movements get daft
you eat them alive

usually they resist

but the taste of sweet sweet wine
and transparent blood

reminds me of east coast singapore
reminds me of east side utak
utak likes aquariums

i hate fishes but they all look so miserable

3 seconds later they will forget.


i order a crab

i need some flesh

i need more than a drunken prawn

the waiter goes and takes the crab out of the tank

and it resists even before he grabs it

but it gives up much too quickly

almost too easily

and dumps its own body into the bowl





i think about the muscle of the drunken prawn

resisting in my mouth

OMG!! i could never eat anything still alive. i don't even likt to eat fish, crabs or lobster with their heads/face still attached.



i never heard of getting the fish druck before. i will be in NYC in march so i'll check this place out but they will have to kill the fish before i eat it. that last sentence sounded so sad, so sad.

anyway, do you know the name of the resturant?
