say hi to morocco life

i think ive been here like... more than a week now ?? like 10 days?
i thought i was in tager, but im actually in assilah

so ...i guess i really AM the only asian person

im used to this kind of treatment, because i went to like
an english school....

and also backstage.,.,,

tokenism watever

im blonde so when i wear a hat and sunglasses no one ...

bullied me, but today i forgot them, and i was walking on the street

and everybody was like yelling at me

MOSHI MOSHI! KONICHIWA!

so i yellled HALALA HALALA HASHHHISHSSISHS HASSHSHSISH

IF ANYONE yells at me at any part of the world, at any city

chingchong, konichiwa, nihao etc...

i will yell back at you....

IF you yell at me in korean, i will yell at you back in korean

telling you "YOU!!! DARE SPEAK KOREAN AND U NEVER LEARNT KOREAN MANNERISM!

I AM AN ADULT! DONT LOOK STRAIGHT INTO MY EYE WHEN YOU ARE TALKING TO ME! RUDE!"

Also, can people please be educated to ask "which part of asia are you from"

instead of asking "so,you speak chinese very well?"

like...dont try to guess where were from. ASK.

Hate it when people yell at me in the street, especially when they're driving and I'm walking. It startles me.

yes this is really annoying incidence that happens to me all the time too.

except i really didn't learn all the korean mannerisms cause i was raised in the us, and then i hear all these stories about when you disrespect your elders you'll get bullied or something. and so now i have no idea what to do in front of the older korean kids in my school. usually i avoid eye contact and past by, but the formal language + all those mannerisms are so particular.

omg, i hate when people automatically assume.
a pirate mascot on this boat in japan was going around to get people to pay for pictures with him and assumed we were chinese first so he said some stuff in chinese and we shook our heads then he asked if we were korean by saying "hanguk nom?" and that's pretty rude and disrespectful. ugh, annoying.

I'm just sick of ignorant people who do stupid things like that. I was sitting in an airport the other day when a complete stranger asked if I was Japanese or whatever. I asked him why it mattered. He said he was just curious, and that sometimes he could "tell" where people are from. I'm not sure why that even matters. It shouldn't.

I think I'm just going to start telling people that I'm American and leave it at that.

even if you american asians consider urself as american ignorant americans still gonna tell u konichiwa. you should be proud of ur origin, and be aware and also accept you guys grew up in america, but never forget ur roots. i didnt ever grow up in seoul, but im korean. im proud. never forget ur roots. but also accept it and also be aware of what you are cos of the enviroment. world sucks cos of ignorant people, but also be thankful that you are not one of them ,and things will change over time and its better to educate rather than hate.

always happen to me when i'm in clubs, people keep yelling konnichi wa or annyeong haseyo, it's weird that they don't say ni hao. it doesn't really bother me becoz it's usual but hey, sometimes i'm asking myself why they just don't come over and ask which ethnicity i am instead of yelling the language although they don't know anything except the greeting. lol

and WORD i totally agree with you, people are ignorant. oh and i love your articles, always make my day.

where i live in the US, its like koreatown #2 in the county (my county is around... 20...? in terms of richest counties in the country because of a couple of our towns with maddddd rich people LOL)

so, especially at my school, its like 15-20%korean and then 10-15%all other asians--not too sure if indians are included in this percentage but at school thank god no one does shit like "nihaooooo?! konnichiwa?!" koreans would probably gang up on them or something. freaking dumbasses would do that.

:D
but when i was younger, i would be extremely tempted to attack and beat the shit out of such ignorant people.

and if that happens (extremely rarely now... maybe in the mall. ugh even with many koreans that shop there, occasionally some stupid sales person starts saying hi in various languages... but at least they include korean here D:) nowadays i would probably say,

"ugh. CAN YOU NOT? you fucking idiot i'm korean and american so i understand english! next time ASK AN ASIAN ABOUT WHAT ETHNICITY THEY ARE you ignorant dumbass! UN-BE-LIE-VA-BLE."
